“How much can I save a month with GCash?” is the question behind every cashback post, and I’m going to be honest: there’s no single number. GCash’s help pages don’t list a standing cashback on Shein, Shopee, or Lazada, so any promise of “save ₱1,000 a month” is a guess. What I can give you is a calculator that uses published rules, with the math shown. Plug in your own spending and see what’s realistic.

The ways you might save

Where savings can come from, and what limits them (company pages, October 2026)
Source What the company says Limit
Shein coupon You can apply a coupon code at checkout Only one coupon per order, and some items are excluded
Shein bonus points You can pay part of an order with points Up to 30% of the purchase, according to Shein’s page
Shopee cashback voucher Cashback is paid in Shopee Coins after the order is completed Coins are for future Shopee orders, not cash
Maya Card cashback (for comparison) 1% cashback on Maya Card payments until March 31, 2027 ₱3,000 a month cap
GSave by CIMB interest 2.30% a year as of June 1, 2026, with 20% withholding tax Rates can change

The numbers come from Shein’s payment page, Maya’s 1% cashback page, and GCash’s GSave interest page.

Let’s do the math: three example months

These are made-up shopping budgets, only to show how the numbers work. They are not what you’ll earn.

Illustrative monthly math (example numbers only; terms and rates change)
Example Spending Calculation Result
A 1% card cashback on a light shopper ₱2,000 a month ₱2,000 × 1% ₱20
A 1% card cashback on a heavy shopper ₱10,000 a month ₱10,000 × 1% ₱100
GSave interest on a ₱10,000 average balance – ₱10,000 × (2.30% ÷ 12), minus 20% tax about ₱15.33
Shein points used on a ₱3,000 order ₱3,000 30% maximum up to ₱900 of the order paid with points, if you have enough points

The cashback and interest examples are small. The biggest lever is simply buying less: skipping a ₱500 impulse buy saves more than a month of cashback. The 30% points example is a maximum, not what you’ll get, because it depends on how many points you’ve earned.

A quick way to estimate your own

  1. Write down what you spent on Shein, Shopee, and Lazada last month.
  2. Check which payment method you used, and whether a promo or card cashback applied.
  3. Multiply the spend that qualified by the cashback percentage, and check it against any cap.
  4. Add your voucher savings, if any, from your order history.
  5. Subtract anything you bought only because of a deal.

Habits that usually save more than cashback

  • Set a monthly limit for online shopping, and stop when you reach it
  • Keep items in your cart for a day before you buy
  • Compare the final price, including shipping, across Shein, Shopee, and Lazada
  • Use cash on delivery or a limited-balance wallet if you tend to overspend
  • Check coupons and vouchers before you pay, and use only one per order where the rules say so

Frequently asked questions

How much can I realistically save with GCash?

It depends on your spending and the promos running. With a 1% cashback, ₱2,000 of spending earns ₱20. GCash doesn’t list a standing cashback for these shops, so don’t plan around one.

Is GSave interest a good way to save?

It’s a way to earn a small amount on money you’ve set aside. At 2.30%, ₱10,000 earns about ₱15 a month after tax. Compare partner banks and read their terms.

Do coupons stack?

Shein’s page says you can only use one coupon per order. Other shops have their own rules, so read them at checkout.

Should I shop more to earn cashback?

No. Spending ₱1,000 to earn ₱10 means you’re ₱990 down.

My take

  • Cashback is a small bonus. Your budget is what saves money.
  • Check terms before you pay. Caps and dates decide what you get.
  • Track one month. Your own numbers beat any estimate.
